Upon our acceptance of the insured's
application and payment of the full program
cost, coverage for the trip cancellation benefit
begins at 12:01 a.m. on the day after we receive
the insured's applcation. Coverage for all other
benefits (Trip Interruption, Baggage, Travel
Delay, Baggage Delay, etc.) begins on the
scheduled date and time the insured begins the
covered trip.
- When does coverage end? (Back)
Coverage ends the earliest of:
- Arrival at the place to which the insured is
scheduled to return from a covered trip;
- The date the insured is scheduled to arrive
at the place to which the insured is scheduled
to return from a covered trip;
- The 30th consecutive day after the date the
insured is scheduled to begin the covered trip;
or
- Cancellation of the covered trip.
- What is a "covered trip"?
(Back)
A "covered trip" means any travel and sojourn
to a scheduled destination that is more than 120
miles from the starting point and not exceeding
30 consecutive days. The number of cities or
countries visited during any trip is
irrelevant.
- What if a trip is longer than 30
days? (Back)
The insured would have coverage for the first
30 consecutive days of a trip in which travel
and sojourn is to a scheduled destination more
than 120 miles from the starting point. Coverage
would end at 12:01 a.m. on the 31st
day of the insured's trip.
- What is the amount of the trip
cancellation benefit? (Back)
An insured should select the amount of the
trip cancellation benefit needed to protect the
cost of the trip. The maximum amount that may be
selected for any one trip depends on the
certificate type purchased. Under the Single
Trip Air, Cruise and Tour Travel Insurance
Program, the maximum trip cancellation benefit
for any one trip is $20,000 per
person.
- If an insured's trip is cancelled 35
days after purchasing an iTravelInsured program
and the insured receives a full refund from the
travel supplier, can the insured get a refund of
the cost of the program? (Back)
An insured cannot obtain a refund if he/she
didn't have a loss. Once the insured pays the
program cost and the insurance company accepts
the payment, a "binding" contract is formed. In
exchange for payment, the insurance company
issues a promise to pay any and all valid
claims.
- If a trip is cancelled or
interrupted, will the insured be reimbursed for
all tickets purchased for the trip, including
those that may have been purchased after
purchasing an iTravelInsured Program?
(Back)
All tickets purchased will be considered, and

insurance policy for non-refundable, unused

of the total trip protection purchased, or the
maximum benefit shown on the Schedule of
Benefits.
- Can I buy travel insurance
after an incident has occurred?
(Back)
Only incidents that occur after your policy
is in effect are considered. Insurance does not
cover events that are no longer unexpected or
unforeseeable. If you were to purchase an
iTravelInsured program after learning that a
family member is sick, and this event causes you
to cancel your trip, no trip cancellation
benefits would be payable under the terms of the
policy.
- Do I have to travel abroad to be
covered? (Back)
You do not have to leave your country or
cross international boundaries; simply travel to
a destination at least 120 miles from your
starting point for which you have purchased: (i)
